Meeting Demanding Flow and Vacuum Requirements:

KNF High-Capacity Process Pumps are Ideal for Air/Gas Handling Applications

KNF high-capacity process pumps offer ideal solutions to meet the demanding flow and vacuum requirements in air/gas sampling and analytical instrumentation applications.  These electrically operated diaphragm pumps can achieve unprecedented flows and allow for easy customization with a wide range of pump designs and technology options.
Their oil-free operation and inert wetted materials contribute to reliable sampling and accurate analysis by eliminating any risk of gas contamination.  Other noteworthy performance benefits include low-noise operation, minimum vibration, and longer service life attributed to optimized engineering and integral components.
Depending on model, these pumps can deliver flow rates up to 300 L/min (0.88 SCFM to 10.6 SCFM), maximum vacuums up to 29.5 in. Hg, and maximum pressure up to 176 psig.
They feature rugged and durable construction in a variety of materials and can be specified in corrosion-resistant versions for pumping particularly harsh media.  KNF offers several motor types including DC, brushless DC, IP-20 AC, IP-44 TEFC AC, and explosion-proof AC (shown).  These pumps have been engineered to install quickly for continuous operation in any position.

Enabling Reliable Sampling and Accurate Analysis:

KNF Specialized Diaphragm Pumps for Hot Gases Prevent Condensation and Contamination

KNF specialized diaphragm pumps for transferring hot gases to analyzers have been designed to maintain specified gas temperatures without cooling to prevent condensation and potentially faulty results. Oil-free operation and inert wetted materials additionally contribute to reliable sampling and accurate analysis by eliminating any risk of gas contamination. The complete product range includes temperature-resistant and heated-head types ideally suited for environmental emissions sampling and analytical instrumentation applications, among others. Custom designs can be developed to satisfy particular application requirements. Heat-resistant models can resist temperatures up to 240º C (or 460º F) without heating and heated-head types (for gas temperatures up to 240º C) can be equipped either with thermostatic temperature control or programmable electronic temperature control. Flows up to 3.5 SCFM and vacuums of 24 in. Hg. (or deeper) can be achieved, depending on model. All pumps are energy-efficient and easy to operate. Optimized construction incorporates 316 stainless steel to resist corrosive gases, PTFE to withstand potential melting from extremely hot gases, and isolation of bearings and motor to protect against overheating. Improved insulation engineering promotes consistent temperature control, power efficiency, minimized heat loss, and worker safety. Pumps with electronic temperature control offer added capabilities to operate remotely (via computer hookup and supplied Windows® software) and generate timely reports and logs.

Safely Transferring Hazardous or Rare Gases:

KNF Process Pumps with Patented Safety Double Diaphragm Exhibit Superior Levels of Gas Tightness

KNF process pumps integrating a patented double-diaphragm system exhibit superior levels of gas tightness and leakage prevention to provide ideal solutions for safely transferring hazardous, toxic, or rare gases. Their redundant diaphragm arrangement creates an effective safeguard to contain gases without risk of escape, even in the unlikely event that the primary, or "working," diaphragm becomes damaged. The system additionally prevents contamination from external influences. These pumps typically will be specified for emissions sampling and monitoring, analytical instrumentation, and nuclear, chemical, and process engineering applications, among others. The unique design pairs a "safety" diaphragm with an elastic "working" diaphragm held securely at their edges. An eccentric and a connecting rod move both diaphragms up and down at their center and the "working" membrane transfers the gas through automatic valves. Both diaphragms enclose a pressure- and vacuum-tight intermediate safety space that can be monitored for pressure changes and serves to prevent contamination and capture the pumped gas should the "working" diaphragm rupture. Combined with additional head machining and sealing rings, a double diaphragm system can dramatically enhance gas tightness with leak rates as low as 6 x 10-6 mbar l/s. The "safety" diaphragm is subject only to low mechanical and thermal loads to promote longer service life. All pumps with double diaphragms operate oil-free and in any installed position. Users can tailor each pump to its application by selecting from cost-effective customization options, including motor types, pump materials, sensors, and others to satisfy particular requirements.

Uniquely Equipped for Gas and Liquid Handling

KNF Process Pumps with Explosion-Proof Motors are Engineered for Hazardous Locations

KNF corrosion-resistant process pumps incorporating explosion-proof AC motors offer safe solutions for gas and liquid handling in potentially hazardous locations. These specialty pumps for compliance with Class 1, Division 1, Groups C & D and ATEX hazardous locations offer high performance and long service life during continuous, heavy-duty operation. Their modular design and available accessories enable easy customization. Explosion-proof process pumps typically will be specified to evacuate, transfer, compress, or recirculate air, gases, or vapors in demanding applications for the chemical, mining, hydrocarbon processing, plastics, and petroleum industries, among others. These compact pumps in several series can achieve flows up to 220 SLPM (7.8 SCFM) and vacuums up to 29.86 in. Hg., depending on model. All are designed to minimize power requirements and reduce costs; perform oil-free to eliminate media contamination and lubrication-related maintenance; run without wear-prone sliding seals; and incorporate quality precision ball bearings for optimized reliability. Users can choose from three head configurations (single-stage for moderate performance, two-stage for deeper vacuum, and parallel-head for higher flow) and various combinations of materials and coatings to realize application-specific benefits (including PTFE resins for higher resistance to chemicals and corrosion).

NOTES: Standard continuous performance ratings listed on this KNF website and on KNF datasheets are based on technical data and test results of nominal units at sea level, measured with an ambient temperature of 70°F (21°C), and nominal electrical supply as listed above, and are for reference only.Multiple-head models, different performance models, cost-effective OEM modifications, and a variety of motor options and different materials of construction are also available. Certified drawings are available upon request. Specifications subject to change without notice. You should always check corrosion resistance charts for compatibility with the medium you intend to pump.
